FAQ

FAQ it let’s go!

  • Main purpose of this website is to create a greater understanding of design so that you can make better choices and get better results. Design is not always about adding more graphics to fill white space, but rather to appeal, simplify, clarify and even remove unnecessary content. Design is also what you “don’t see”, as the typography, legibility, structure, clarity, icons, file logistics, file types, batch handling, domain, structure, content adaptability and flexibility etc.

  • Design thinking is mainly universal, and graphics can and should be adaptable to both screen and print. Which means a basic website can be a part of a design process, but normally after the fundamentals are designed, such as a logo process, graphics, text and imagery. The services are content and concept focused. For more advanced websites, a certified web partner can be included in the process for additional fees.

  • A rule of thumb is to have some well developed brand design fundamentals before heading into specific media design like web, app and social media. A developer is normally not a designer in terms of content and branding etc, and a designer is normally not a developer in terms of “from scratch coding”. But they overlap, and UI designer is somewhere in the middle who is often limited to screen, as in web or app, and often more focused on arranging content rather than creating fundamental brand content from scratch. Though exceptions apply.

  • Design thinking and creation are normally not limited to one specific media. Which means the content is normally universal and can be easily implemented into different media such as print, website, application, signage, decoration. Design is also a way of thinking and managing content, bringing complex and quantitative information and content into a structured, visual pleasing experience for screen and print.

  • Seeing the bigger picture, combining and understanding varied principles of branding, concept, graphics, artwork, photography, technology, media, strategy. And with the ability to create customized and accurate visuals adaptable for screen and print.

Personal service, coaching and consulting are also part of a process. Adding flexibility and passion makes Darner a convenient, low threshold quality provider. You’ll get similar quality content as from the larger creative companies, but with the flexibility and hands on knowledge as in the “freelance” world.

  • The goal is to improve skills, and to create quality solutions. This may not be as effective for famous recognition compared to other more controversial approaches like posting on social media everyday. Providing clients with quality work is the main priority, and not recognition itself.

  • If based in same location, physical meetings can be inquired during processes. Remote work is also an option. For bigger projects, you can inquire part of, or the entire design process, on site. As in working side by side on your location upon request. Expenses for travel and stay will be covered by the client, in addition to the work fee.

  • It is not overpriced, and many would say it’s a reasonable price considering the quality work. The total price depends on the size and duration of the project.
